Hillwalks on DVD Video All our titles feature top-notch professional videography, with immaculate picture composition of glorious mountain scenery taken in rare clear conditions. The footage is deliberately shot from the walker's eye-view, with new vistas and perspectives of the surrounding fells, the line of the path being followed and sometimes even the rippling brooks and lichen-covered rocks; at each relevant point along the way. The summit cairns of all the hills are recorded, together with extensive panoramic views from the tops.
This "walker's eye-view", along with the natural sounds of the hills present at the time of recording, give a vivid impression to the viewer of "being there" and of virtually reliving the walk concerned. Carefully chosen and inspiring mood music also features from time to time.
Unlike other walking DVDs, which often give only snippets of information now and again, - usually contained within breathless chit chat - a comprehensive coverage of the names, positions and spot heights of all prominent surrounding hills, along with local history are given, in the form of subtitles and fully researched commentary. A detailed map relating to each walk completes the information package that make our DVD Guides one of the most original contributions to the at-home enjoyment of the great outdoors since the launch of the Wainwright guidebooks; being ideal planners for, or mementos of, happy days in the hills
HILLWALKS ON VIDEO recommend Harvey Maps ~clear & easy to use.

Clear views Although they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the imitation is often of inferior quality to the original. Many other hillwalking DVDs contain disappointing footage taken in rain, mist, low cloud or heat haze, severely restricting views of the surrounding landscape.
Hillwalks on DVD-Video are dedicated to taking the trouble to guarantee to our customers that all our titles are shot in fine, clear, bright and often sunny conditions throughout, even though many of the hills concerned had to be climbed more than once, before the visibility (to the horizon) and light met our high standards. |
